First Look
We've looked at several Hataka paint sets since they started production a few years ago and these started with airbrush-ready acrylic paints which have since been incorporated into their Red Line. These were followed by many of the same colors, also acrylic, but with a higher viscosity optimized for paint brush application under the banner of their Blue Line. Most recently, Hataka introduced their Orange Line, which provides many of the same colors as the acrylic line, but as airbrush-ready lacquers.
This set contains six 17ml bottles of paint with a set of colors that render US Navy and Marine Corps aircraft colors used between the end of World War 2 and the adoption of low-visibility camouflage in the 1980s. The colors in this set include:
- C001 Dark Sea Blue ANA 623
- C041 Night Black FS 37038
- C048 Light Gull Gray ANA 620
- C049 Insignia White ANA 511
- C061 Seaplane Gray ANA 625
- C062 International Orange ANA 508
I will be using some of these colors in two upcoming builds, so stay tuned and we'll see how well these work!
My sincere thanks to Hataka Hobby for this review sample!
