First Look
Ammo by Mig Jimenez produces a wide range of paints, filters, washes, and other products designed to improve your scale modeling efforts. Here is the latest out of their labs, a new series for creating water effects. This new series provides different colors of clear acrylic gel which can be used to replicate different watery locations from blue-water navy display bases to rainy run-off in forests or open fields.
This is one of several colors of simulated water recently released that include:
- 2200 - Deep Oceans
- 2201 - Pacific Waters
- 2202 - Lake Waters
- 2203 - Wild River Water
- 2204 - Slow River Water
- 2205 - Clear Water
Simply apply this material to your display base or diorama with a palette knife or spatula and you have plenty of time to replicate water falls, wakes, spray, waves, etc., before the gel dries. The product is odorless and will dry in 24 hours. As noted above, each product is pre-colored to replicate depth or content and can be mixed with other acrylics to alter the colors as needed.
This product will work great on its own or in conjunction with other materials to replicate whatever scene you're recreating to place your figures, armor, ships, or whatever.
My sincere thanks to Ammo by Mig Jimenez for this review samples!
