Ammo by Mig Jimenez is family of paints and weathering products designed to take your models to the next step. Master modeler Mig Jimenez has worked with a variety of model companies to correlate colors in their instructions to specific colors in the Ammo paint series. They've also bundled several paints together to create subject-based sets like their recent colors for the M4 Sherman. This new set provides a little 'shock and awe' as it is the largest set I've seen from them and all 12 colors are selected for the Rye Field Model 1/35 Panzer V Ausf.G Panther kit. The Rye Field kit features a full interior and exterior, and here are the colors you'll need to replicate the Panther, right down to the brass color for the ammunition.
This set consists of 12 17ml bottles of acrylic paints which include:
- A.Mig-002 Olivgruen Opt.2 RAL 6003
- A.Mig-003 Resedagruen RAL 6011
- A.Mig-011 Dunkelgelb Aus'44 DG I-RAL 7028
- A.Mig-012 Dunkelgelb Aus'44 DG III-RAL 7028
- A.Mig-014 Rotbraun RAL 8012
- A.Mig-015 Scholobraun RAL 8017
- A.Mig-017 Cremeweiss RAL 9001
- A.Mig-024 Washable White Camo
- A.Mig-052 Blue Gray
- A.Mig-197 Brass
- A.Mig-218 Schwartzgrau RLM 66
- A.Mig-910 Gray Highlight
These paints can be applied by airbrush or standard brush and each bottle includes a metal ball inside to help mix the colors before application. The washable white can be streaked or broken up using a paint brush dipped in water to replicate the effects of wear on winter camouflage. While this set is targeted for the RMF Panther, these colors are applicable for a variety of German armor subjects. Give them a try!
Perhaps we'll see similar sets for the MiniArt 1/35 Interior Series for the T-54/T-55/Tiran series?
My sincere thanks to Ammo by Mig Jimenez for this review samples!
