Review

Accion Press Modelismo is back with another impressive issue of Euro Modelismo. This issue provides the usual nice array of modeling subjects to appeal to a wide variety of modelers. In this issue:

  • History of the Hobby in Spain, Part 1
  • After the Blitzkrieg, Poland 1939, 1/35 Scale
  • Egyptian M109 2011, 1/35 scale
  • Douglas A-1H Skyraider, 1/48 scale
  • Albatros D.V, 1/32 scale
  • General Armistead, 54mm

As with each of the publications from Accion Press Modelismo, each article is well-illustrated with step-by-step instructions to show you how to replicate these impressive models. After looking at the early days of the hobby and remembering some of those same kits in my youth from the first article, this title provides a nice feature on how to replicate a post-combat diorama with an SS trooper driving a Tempo G.1200 vehicle past an abandoned TKS tankette and staring at a professional woman nearby. This article provides a wealth of how-to in detailing as well as achieving the depth of color and weathering.

If an Egyptian M109 isn't your normal realm of interest, look again. This model is built, painted, and weathered by Mig Jimenez, providing you with a nice how-to from the weather master himself. The A-1 Skyraider article likewise provides some useful tips on achieving a war-weary combatant, while the Albatros D.V feature has a nice step-by-step of building the Wingnut Wings kit without the excessive aftermarket materials and still achieving a beautiful result.

If you're looking for a quality modeling magazine that has excellent photography, high-quality modeling topics and authors, outstanding paper and print quality, and very few ads, this is one of those series worth keeping in your modeling reference library. Euro Modelismo is published in your choice of English or Spanish.

Definitely recommended!

My sincere thanks to Accion Press for this review sample!
