Review

Classic Warships has produced the 3rd in a series of aircraft pictorial books keeping with the navel airpower theme.  Dana Bell begins with a brief history of the Vought Kingfisher production variants as well as the colors and markings for this Observation Scout airplane.

OS2U

This book contains over 70 color and black & white photos, all photos are crisp and clear, I can tell all the photos have been cleaned up very nicely from the original archival negatives and slides.  Full page photos are reserved for close-up interior cockpit shots, gunner positions along with full view photos of the Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp radial engine, close photos are also provided for the wings and landing gear.

Scale three view drawings and beautiful color lithographs are included with this tribute to the Kingfisher. It is evident that Dana Bell has put a lot of time and effort to provide you with the most accurate illustrations of the Kingfisher.

I highly recommend this book for your naval aircraft collection.

Thanks goes out to Steve Wiper of www.classicwarships.com for the review sample.
