Review

The second issue of Kagero's terrific Super Model International magazine focuses exclusively on 1:35 military vehicles:

  • BMW R75 motorcycle from MASTER BOX
  • Jagdpanther from DML
  • Su-122-54 scratchbuild with SKIFF kit details
  • T-55 from TAMIYA

Feature detail total projects from start to finish.  And subsections showcase specific techniques.  Sidebars, for instance, cover figure painting, light and shade effects, color modulation and oil washes.

Workmanship is uniformly exceptional.  And superb color photography brilliantly illumines everything.  A fan of the legendary Soviet T-54/T-55 tanks, I especially enjoyed the Soviet Su-122-54 assault gun and Serb T-55 coverage.  Outstanding!

Kagero!  Captions, please!  Seas of article text drown vital tips and techniques.  And I frequently lost my place moving back and forth between features and photos.

Gripe aside, this excellent edition will definitely motivate your modeling muse!

Recommended.
