First Look
Starfighter Decals produces a nice range of decals to provide markings for a wide range of classic kits that have been ignored in recent years by other decal companies. With the release of their P-26 Peashooter decal sheet ( look here), Starfighter decided to offer a cockpit detail set to help dress up the 1/48th scale P-26 kit released by Hobbycraft and Academy (same tooling).
Produced by Toms Modelsworks, this set is comprised of three resin parts and one fret of photo-etched parts. The resin parts comprise the forward bulkhead/instrument panel, rear bulkhead, and cockpit floor. The photo-etched parts provide the structural frames for the insides of the fuselage halves for the cockpit as well as nice details including throttle quadrant, map case, rudder pedals, and more.
When you combine this set with Starfighter's P-26 decal set, you have a really nice-looking Peashooter. The detail set instructions even show you how to rig the aircraft as well.
This is a nice option from Starfighter Decals to help dress up these classic kits to make them worthwhile to accept the nice color schemes being produced in their decal line.
You can purchase this detail set directly from Starfighter Decals on their website.
My sincere thanks to Starfighter Decalsfor this review sample!
